The first part of the title sequence is of an open book with the pages turning. It also has the production companies logo in the lower right hand corner. The camera shot is an extreme close-up of the book. The writing reads, ‘New Line Cinema Presents’

The second screen is a black screen with the name of the production company. The text is in white and is in a bold font. The words ‘AN ‘ and ‘PRODUCTION’ are in bold because they want them to stand out as they want them to stand out from the name

The third screen has a book with a picture of a pair of hands. The right side of the screen has been faded in black so that the filmmakers name can be read clearly. The writing reads, ‘A Film By David Fincher’. The writing that is appearing on the screen looks as if somebody has hand wrote it.

0 Seconds

After 12 seconds there is a old type writer. This quickly cuts to the next clip of the actor cleaning a silver piece of metal. The screen the changes back to the side of the old type writer. In this second there are many fast cuts that speeds up the pace of the film.

13 seconds

After 13 seconds the screen fades into the black and the white writing appears on screen. The writing says the name of the first actor ‘Brad Pitt’. The screen is a plain black with the white writing.

16 seconds
|
After 16 seconds the guy is still cleaning stuff. To clean it he is rubbing it with his hands. This lasts for 1 seconds then the screen fades out to black.

17 seconds
|
After 17 seconds the screen fades out from the previous shot and into the next title screen. The name of the second actor (Morgan Freeman) appears in white writing.

20 seconds
|
After 20 seconds the screen fades out from the title screen and into a shot of the guy with what looks to be some fabric. He seems to be organizing items. The camera shot is a close up of his hands on the fabric and it lasts on screen for approximately 3 seconds.

23 seconds
|
After 23 Seconds the screen fades into a black screen and the title of the film flickers in the top right corner. The title screen stays the same for a second until it changes into the next.

24 seconds
|
At 24 seconds the title of the film has flickered into the middle of the shot and is in a white font that looks like it has had some of the letters and the number 7 wiped out. It lasts on screen for around 3 seconds.

33 seconds
|
After the title of the film fades out, we get the first scene of the film. It looks to be of a book. It could be the front page. The shot is a close up again of his hands on the book about to turn the page. The shot is on screen for approximately 2-3 seconds.
